  Died Aug. 31, 1916 aged 75 yrs. 4 mo & 3 days. At the age of 14 years he came with his parents and settled at Reedsburg. He was married to Miss Bertha Flautt in Jan. 1870, the couple making their home until about 9 years ago when they moved to Anacortes, Washington. living there for about 3 years. moving to Petaluma, California; from there to San Francisco, coming back to Wi. one year ago last April on account of the serious illness of their daughter, Mrs. A.E. Murray. After her recovery they made preparations for their return, but he was taken sick sinking gradually until he passed away, Aug. 31, at 12:30 AM. The funeral was Sat. morning at the St. Joseph Church conducted by Rev. Father O'Riley. The internment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Those left to mourn his departure besides his wife are Mrs. A.E. Murray, Delton; GH Winchester, Baraboo, JV Winchester, San Francisco, California; Mrs. OJ Gibbs, Aurora, Illinois; Mrs. GC Gardner, San Francisco; GA Winchester, Petaluma, California; W.F. Winchester, Santa Rosa, California.
  Baraboo Republic Aug. 31, 1916 F. S. Winchester, died on Wednesday night at his home on Sixth Street. Mr. & Mrs. Winchester resided in the same house occupied by Rev. Father Durward. He had been ill some time.
  Mr. Winchester was born in Pennsylvania about 75 years ago and was a member of the 19th Wis. Vol. Infantry. He was in the service 3 years, at one time being an inmate of Libby Prison. The couple moved from California to Baraboo about one year ago.
  George W. Winchester, bookkeeper for the A.W. Rohn, is the only son here. There are a son and daughter at San Francisco, a son at Petaluma, California and another son at Santa Rosa, in the same state and a daughter at Aurora, Illinois.
