  J. V. Winchester, who died last Sunday afternoon at his home in Lake Delton, conducted from the funeral chapel of Meizl and McGann, this morning at 9:30. Msgr. E. C. O'Reilly officiating. Interment made in Lake Delton Cemetery. Spanish-American members of VFW acted as pallbearers: Relatives here from away for the services included Mr. & Mrs. A.E. Murray and family of Lake Delton, Mr. & Mrs. O.J. Gibbs and son of Aurora, Illinois; Giles Winchester of Macomb, Illinois and his son, Leslye Winchester of Waukesha, and Mr. & Mrs. George Winchester of Madison. (March 11, 1936)
  Reedsburg Free Press; 03-13-1936 p. 2 Several from Reedsburg went to Baraboo Wednesday to attend the funeral of James Winchester who died in Delton last Sunday night. Mr. Winchester formerly lived here and later entered the government service, going to Alaska for several years. He was not married and lived with a sister in Delton for the past several years.
