a. Continued:   The Spartanburg Herald, Spartanburg, S.C., December 17 1994 Walter R. Burgess Union - Walter Ray "Red" Burgess, 67, of 405 S. Church St., died Dec. 15, 1994, in Wallace Thomson Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Union, he was the husband of Betty Gibbs Burgess and son of the late William Wallace and Florence Rippey Burgess. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and veteran of Worl War II, U.S. Army. He was a retired auto body man. Also surviving are one daughter, Bernice Inman of Union; one sister, Ruby Burgess of the home; one brother, Ed Burgess of Jonesville; three grandchildren; and one great- grandchild. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 tonight at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Tabernacle Baptist Church by Dr. Joe Bridges and the Rev. Mike Moody. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Burial will be held in the Union Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Tabernacle Baptist Church Building Fund, 915 S. Pinckney St., Union, S.C. 29739. The family is at the home of his daughter, Bernice Inman, 106 Fant Lane, Union.
