Continued: Rochelle Boyle Union-- Rochelle Boyle, 91, of Oakmont Nursng home died April 14 1998, in Wallace Thomson Hospital after an extended illness. A native of cherokee County, he was the widower of Mary Lee Vanderford Boyle and son of the late Alie and Lula Burgess Boyle. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a Mason and a member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple. He was a former member of the S.C. Highway Patrol. He was the last survivor of the original 27 highway patrolmen. He was formerly employed by SLED and was the Union County Tax Collector. He was a former sheriff of Union County. He was first married to the late Mary ola Spencer Boyle. Survivors include three sisters, Berthenia Boyle, Polly Boyle, and Susan B. Spencer of Gaffney; and two brothers, L. Hall Boyle of Spartanburg and Squire "Kye" Boyle of Gaffney. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Grace United Methodist Church, conducted by the Revs. Gary B. Byrd and M.B. Morrow III. Burial will be in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Gaffney. The family is at the home of his sister, Ppolly Boyle, 665 Corinth Road, Gaffney. Memorials may eb made to Grace United Methodist Church, 210 S. Church St., Union, 29379 or a charity of one's choice. The S. R. Holcombe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
