Note: Blanche Burgess Hartsell 2011-06-15 / Obituaries LAURENS � Blanche Hattie Burgess Hartsell, 81, a resident of Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at the Laurens County Hospital. Born in Gaffney, S.C., she was a daughter of the late William Claude and Hattie Lou Pettit Burgess. Mrs. Hartsell worked for Oxford Manufacturing in Gaffney before moving to Laurens, where she was an employee of the Edwards and Roses Department Stores. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Belton M. �Brud� Hartsell of Laurens; nine children, Patricia A. Holtzclaw of Waterloo, Jimmie C. Hartsell and wife Patty of Huntersville, N.C., Mike Hartsell of Douglasville, Ga., Anita Gensler and husband David of Waterloo, Gene Hartsell and wife Susie of Columbia, Steve Hartsell of Laurens, William �Curly� Hartsell and wife Karon of Quinton, Va., Rodney Hartsell of Laurens, and Elaine Lawson and husband Lee of Clinton; two sisters, Ruth McCraw and Annie Carter, both of Gaffney; 19 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Terry Holtzclaw; three brothers; and four sisters. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, at St. James United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Charlie Short and the Rev. Frank D. Hartsell. There will a private burial at Westview Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of a daughter, Patricia Holtzclaw, 24 Cedar Hill Lane, Waterloo, and will receive friends at the church immediately following the memorial service
