Continued: Charlotte Observer, The (NC) - May 10, 2005 Juanita Burgess Mooresville NC United States Juanita Burgess MOORESVILLE -- Miss Burgess, 85, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2005, after a period of declining health. Born in Unaka, NC, on May 11, 1919, she was a graduate of Mooresville High School and King's College of Charlotte. She worked for many years as a secretary for Mooresville Mills and Davidson College. Later she worked for the Mooresville Graded School District and was secretary to Dr. Bill Brown, then superintendent of schools. A member of Southside Baptist Church, she was a long-time secretary of the Sunday School Department in the 1940's and 1950's. A beloved sister and aunt, she is survived by her sister, Mrs. Tate Mills, of Pine St., Mooresville, and nephews and nieces, Jack Harris, of Charlotte, Brenda Harris Knott, of Salisbury, Tom Mills, of Mooresville, Suzanne Mills Woods, of Mooresville, and Richard Mills, of Newport News, VA. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Fair View United Methodist Church Cemetery, Mooresville, with Dr. Robert Knott, President of Catawba College presiding. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is serving the family of Miss Burgess.
