Hampton Burgess Sr. Union - Malcolm Hampton Burgess Sr., 64 of Route 5, Old English Road, died Thursday in the VA Hospital in Columbia after a long illness. Native of Union County; son of the late Jesse R. and Myrtle Henderson Burgess; self-employed building contractor in Florida for many years; World War II veteran; a Baptist. Surviving: daughter, Mrs. Emma Fay Asbill of Royce City, Texas; sons, the Rev. Malcolm H, Jr., and the Rev. Jimmy Burgess of Del Ray Beach, Fla., Jesse Robert and Korey N. Burgess of Buffalo; sisters, Mrs. Lucille Plemmons of Union, Mrs. Edna Smith of Spartanburg, Mrs.Anna Ferguson of Denver, N. C., Mrs.Fiorino of Liverpool, N. Y.; brothers, Arthur R. and Dean Burgess of Union, Oren W. Burgess of Enoree, Leroy Burgess of Wichita Falls, Texas, (?) grandchildren, three great- grandchildren. Services 2 Sunday at S. R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Frank Inman; burial inGilead Baptist Church Cemetery. Nephews will be pallbearers. Family is at the home of a sister, Lucille Plemmons, Route 5, Old English Road; to receive friends 7-9 Saturday at the funeral home.
