Notes
a. Continued:   Some researchers have identified this daughter as Mary, who married Benjamin Arrowood. I am not convinced. Mary Arrowood's age in the 1850 census alone fits into the correct time frame. For the remainder of the census records where she appears , her age places her birth at around 1815, too old to be a daughter of James Burgess, who was born between 1800 and 1807.
I suspect that Mary may be a sister of James Burgess. I further suspect that Trinity Burgess may be the daughter of James. Her age is consistant with the female in his 1840 household. In 1860, her 2 sons are living in the household of William Bevis, father-in-law of James' son, Thomas. Trinity's eldest son is named James. DNA results show that descendants of Trinity's son James do not match any other Burgess family currently in the project.
