a. Continued:   The Spartanburg Herald, Spartanburg, S.C., Apr 22 1948 Wallace Burgess Union - Wallace Coleman Buregss, 62, died at his home at 35 Hicks Street Tuesday afternoon after a long illness. Mr. Burgess was a lifelong resident of Union County. He was a member of the West Side Baptist Church and till the time of his illness was assistant overseer of the spinning department at the Union-Buffalo Mill. Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Bessie Gallman Burgess and 5 sisters, Mrs. N. R. Trammell, Mrs. H. H. Willard, Mrs. J.J. Cooksey, Mrs. Will Sparks and Mrs. C. E. Finley, all of Union. Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday afternoon at 5 with the Rev. R. R. Brady officiating, assisted by the Rev. R. O. Webb. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: John Lybrand, John Cody, Frank Price, Frank Smith, Eveston Sprouse and Walter Reed. The body will remain at the home till the hour of services. The Edgar Brown Bailey Funeral Home is in chaarge of arrangements.
