a. Continued:   The Spartanburg Herald, Spartanburg, S. C., May 15 1979 Thomas H. Burgess Jonesville -- Thomas H. Burgess, 69, husband of Ruth Mason Burgess of Church Street, died at 4 a. m. Monday at his home after a brief illmess. Native of Union County, son of the late James and Addie Fowler Burgess; retired from J P Stevens Compnay, Jones- ville Plant and was serving as magistrate of Jonesville Township; member, deacon, and Sunday school teacher of Jonesville Baptist Church; veteran of World War II; member of the American Legion; member of Woodmen of the World. Also surviving: brother, James Burgess of Mullins; a number of nieces and nephews. Services 3 Wednesday at Jonesville Baptist Church by the Rev. Billy Nelson; burial in Gilead Baptist Church cemetery. Nephews will be pallbearers. Family will receive friends at the S. R. Holcombe Funeral Home 7-9 tonight. Body in church 2 Wednesday.
