Note: d June 8, 2001 at Wallace Thomson Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Jonesville, she was a daughter of the late Thomas G. and Minnis Gallman Burgess. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, the Ladies Bible Class, United Methodist Women and the Bonham Homemakers Club. She was also a graduate of Rocky Creek School. Surviving her are a daughter, Donna J. Jenkins of Jonesville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at New Hope United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Scott Petry. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Union. The body will remain at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Sunday to await the hour of service.
