Continued: The Spartanburg Herald, August 22, 1936 Mrs. R H Hicks Gaffney, Aug 21---Mrs. R H Hicks, 58, of Limestone street, died yesterday afternoon after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon. The Rev. C. G. Campbell, pastor of the First Baptist church of Union, and Captain Cranford, Salvation Army officer of Union, will officiate. Mrs. Hicks, whose husband died several years ago, is survived by a son and daughter, Paul Hicks and Mrs. Ray Bishop, of Miami, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Dovie Eubanks of Union, Mrs. John Parris of Converse and Mrs Fred Heffner of Lando; and three brothers, Robert and William Burgess of Caroleen, N. C., and Forest Burgess of Buffalo.
