  DEATH: CATHERINE RHOADS SUCCUMBS AT SALIX
  DEATH: Septuagenarian Was Daughter of Jacob and Lydia (Gramling) Kring
  DEATH: Mrs. Catherine Rhoads, widow of Jacob Rhoads, died yesterday afternoon at her home in Salix after an illness of a complication of ailments lasting three years. Mrs. Rhoads had been bedfast for about a year. She was a daughter of Jacob and Lydia (Gramling) Kring and was born in Adams Township, this county, in May, 1857.
  DEATH: The deceased and Jacob Rhoads were married in the Evangelical Church at Salix in 1877 by the late Rev. Frank P. Saylor, a minister of the Evangelical Church. Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Rhoads, five of whom passed away some time ago. They were Eva Jane, Ruby, George, David and Harry Rhoads. Jacob Rhoads' death occurred in May, 1930. Mrs. Rhoads was a sister of Mrs. Jennie Arthur, who died some years ago in Moxham; George Kring, who died in Salix about 1914, and David and Jacob Kring, who passed away in Moxham, David two years ago and Jacob last fall.
  DEATH: Mrs. Rhoads is survived by six children, 32 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Lydia Shank of the Seventeenth Ward. The sons and daughters are Mrs. L.E. Helsel and C.H. Rhoads, both of Elton; Mrs. Howard Thomas and Mrs. George Smay, both of Sidman; Ross Rhoads and Krayn and Carl Rhoads, at home.
  DEATH: Mrs. Rhoads was affiliated with the Salix Evangelical Church for some 50 years. Funeral services will be held at the church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon by Rev. Clair Custer, her pastor, and Rev. Ray Starr of the First Evangelical Congregational Church, this city, with interment in the church graveyard. Lloyd Shank is the mortician in charge of funeral arrangements.
