 Lewis W. Silk 62, of 1115 Ward St. Mueller Brass Co. Employee 14 years died today in Port Huron Hospital. He was born December 21, 1897 in Sanilac Co., he and Ms. Fern A. Siple were married 8-31-1921. The couple moved here in 1948 from Yale. He is survived by his widow, 4 daughters, Mrs. Virgina Rich, Deckerville, Mrs. Ruth Gross,Flint, and Mrs. Audrey Peterson, Mrs. Betty Fleisher both of Port Huron. (Mom lived in Elkhart at the time.) 5 sons, LeRoy Silk, Port Huron, Frank Silk, Keego Harbor, Raymond K. Silk Port Huron, Purl Robert and Dale Silk all of Port Huron. (Lived in Elkhart). Sisters, Mrs. Minnie Moore, Mrs. Elsie Ramsey both of Memphis. Mrs. Jessie Chambers of Sandusky and Mrs. Annabelle Scribner of Ellington, 31 grandchildren and several Neice and nephews. The remains are in the Hubert V. Lucas Funeral Home, were the funeral service will be called at 2pm Friday. Burial will be in the Elk Cemetery, Peck.

 PTE. Lewis W. Silk was born in Watertown Township, December 21, 1897, son of Herman and Carrie Silk, attended the Morris school and Memphis High School. His occupation was farming. He has two brothers and five sisters: William and John; Alma, Minnie, Jessie, Elsie, Anna. He was a Selective Service man and left this county for Camp Wadsworth, S. C., November 11, 1918, was discharged from the service November 12, 1918.
  Lewis W. Silk's name was on the monument in Sandusky in front of the court house for World War One.
