  DOUD'S FRACTURED SKULL RESULT OF AN ACCIDENT
 The Police Discover That His Watch and Stud Were Taken From Him for Safety.
 The police have cleared up what seemed to be a mystery, in connection with the accident that befell W. A. Doud. the broker who was found unconscious in the rear of his office, 304 Montgomery street, late Monday night. Detectives Reynolds and Riordan were detailed on the case yesterday morning, and they ascertained that Doud's watch and chain and diamond stud had been taken from him about 7 o'clock Monday night for safety by William de Coucy, bookkeeper for William
 Edwards, stockbroker, and put In the safe.
 It is supposed that Doud while going up the rear stairway fell backward, hls head striking against the sharp metal edge of a beer sign.
 Doud was removed from the Harbor Hospital to St. Luke's Hospital yesterday morning, where another operation was performed on his fractured skull. There is a possibility that he may survlve. He has a wife and two children and lives at 353S Twenty-fourth street. He is a member of the Pacific Stock Exchange Mission Lodge of Masons and Stanford Parlor. N. S. G.W.

  Death of Stockbroker Doud
  William A. Doud, the stockbroker whose office was at 304 Montgomery street, died at St. Luke's Hospital on Saturday night from injuries received by falling down a stairway on August 7. It is thought the fall which proved fatal was accidental, as the deceased, when seen entering his office earlier in the evening of the accident, was perfectly sober.

  DOUD - In this city, August 11, 1900, William A., beloved husband of Octavia Doud and father of Royal A. and William E. and son of Aaron and Flora H. Doud, and brother of Mrs. H. B. Edwards, a native of San Francisco, aged 40 years 4 months and 17 days.
 Friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend the funeral to-morrow (Tuesday), a 2 o'clock, from the Masonic Temple, corner Post and Montgomery streets where services will be held under the auspices of Excelsior Lodge No. 166, F. and A.M. Interment Masonic Cemetery.
  William Aaron's remains were removed to Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Colma in May 1912 with those of his stillborn daughter. At the same time, the remains of his father's family were removed as well.
