  Parker, Joseph Reese, Private Co B 63 PA Vol, [was born in PA around the year 1827. He married in Niles, Ohio in 1848 and just before the Civil War, he and his wife Juliette (Julia) lived in Sharpsburg where he worked nearby as a nailor. Even with 3 small children at home, he enlisted along with many other friends in the Sharpsburg - Etna area with Company B of the 63rd Regiment of the PA Volunteers. He was mustered in on 1 August 1861 as a musician and discharged out with the regiment 5 August 1864 as a fife major. According to his pension file, he enlisted on 5 April 1865 in Co. C of the 7th Regiment of the PA Reserve Infantry (the 36th Volunteers) after his discharge from the 63rd. He was discharged 5 April 1866. He died in Pittsburgh in April of 1888. His wife Julia and two of their four children are also interred in the plot, but do not have tombstones], (contributed by Diane Nichols)
