The parents of Jacob Friesen were Martin Friesen, born 1760
and Elizabeth Bruhnin. They were married 15 November 1785
according to Petershagen Church Records of 1780, Microfilm
 # 73 at Mennonite Heritage Center Archives. Martins parents
were David and Anna Friesen. Martin was from the village of
Lindenau, Kres Elbing West, Prussia according to Margaret
Kroeker of Mennonite Genealogy Inc. Karl Stumpp,

to 1862, (Lincoln, Nebraska.: American Historical Society of
Germans from Russia 1982), page 179 gives the following:
"Friesen, Martin, *1760, tailor, from Lingnau, 1795, to Burwalde,
 Chortitza; Children: Jacob*1793, Johann*1804, Abraham*1806,
