  An incorrect birth date of 3 Sep 1877 on Max's Death Certificate (0054) was provided son Meyer DAMESEK who was the informant. Curiously, the 1877 birth year was used in son Abbe DAMESEK's Birth Certificate (0016) and was claimed son Alex DAMESEK (28) in my interview.
  My grandfather told me that his father was Max DAMESEK and that he was born in Dvisk. According to Neal RIEMER (0058), however, this was Max's adopted American names, and his real name was Itzik Mendel DAMESEK. Itzik is Hebrew for Isaac. Why Max? In the 1940 census, there are four guys named Max on the page he appears.
