Notes
a. Note:   hich matches census data and death record.
Ellen was born in PA according to her 1870 census record and her daughter Amanda's 1880 census record. However, she was born in NY according to her 1850 census record and in Damascus, NY according to her daughter Minnie's death record. The informant on Minnie's DR was her sister Grace. Grace claimed that her father was born in Damascus, NY whereas he was born in Damascus, PA. Since Ellen's husband and children were born in Damascus, PA, maybe Ellen was born there too and Grace just got her mother's birthplace wrong like she got her father's birthplace wrong.
Reasons to believe that Ellen was a daughter of Henry PIERCE (Indian)
 1) There are few PIERCEs in the area and Henry appears to have been in the Delaware Valley at the right time. Henry's children are not all accounted for and Ellen is a logical fit.
 2) Ellen married Elliot TYLER and settled in Damascus, Wayne, PA. Thankful PIERCE, suspected sister, married Oliver TYLER, uncle of Elliott PIERCE. They also settled in Damascus, Wayne, PA.
 3) Both the TYLER and PIERCE families had Tory and Chief Brant connections. Jonathan PIERCE was a loyalist who was killed at Minisink. Elliott TYLER was a great grandson of loyalist Captain Joseph ROSS who was a friend of BRANT.
Ellen's father is NOT James PEARCE of Clinton, Wayne, PA who wrote his will 3 Apr 1860.
Note:   Shed died 1 May 1874 (age 60 y, 6 mo) so she was born about Nove 1813, w
