a. Note:   Joseph Unzicker for fifty years and was a well known and successful farmer in Livingston County, Illinois and later a resident of Flanagan, Illinois. He was born in the state of Ohio, on October 30, 1838. His father Jacop Henry Unzicker, a farmer by occupation, was born in Bavaria, Germany, his mother Barbara Stalter Unzickr in Alsace, Germany (then French territory). In 1835 the parentf emigrated to the US locating in Butler County, Ohio. In 1845 they came to Illinois and there they spent their last days. The father dying in 1846 and the mother in 1889.
 In March 1865, he bought 160 acres in Pike Twp., Livingston Co., Illinois and also bought 150 acres near Graymont in Rooks Creek Twp., Livinginstion Co., Illinois. the bought four lots in the village of Flanagan where he took up his residence in 1905.
 On february 22, 1866 he was married to Miss Barbara Streid. they had eight children namely Elizabeth E., KatherineE., Benjamin F., Francis M., Joseph H., Henrietta M. Noah L., and Minnie A.
 His political connection was with the Democratic party and were communicats of the Mennonite Church.
