  "Wed. Nov. 26, 1890:
Mrs. Nancy W Brady Simons was born March 1, 1809, and died Oct. 25, 1890. She was married to her late husband, Elias Simons, at the age of 22 years, by the Rev. Jas. A Clark. She was converted and united with the ME Church at a metting at WT Hefner's residence on Slab Camp. Two of her sons were captured with the malitia [sic], and carried to the South, and forced to starve and rot in the rebel prison pens. Her husband was so afflicted with rheumatism that he was reduced to an invalid, a condition that lasted for years. Her funeral sermon was preached by her pastor Rev BB Brooks, at the French Creek Church. She was buried at Point Pleasant Cemetery beside her husband."
