He is supposed to have been 86 years old and a native born of Upshur County. Only two members of his family survive him, Mrs. Allen Neeley, and Mrs. Sears of Holly Grove. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Foster andinterment at the Waterloo U B Cemetery on Sunday, April 1st. (Upshur County census 1880: John, age 65; wife Alena, age 52.)
