  I certify that the name of John W Duncan is borne upon a Muster and Descriptive Roll of a Detachment of Veteran Volunteers, re-enlisted from Captain J L Gould's Company B in the Tenth Regiment of the West Virginia Infantry Vols', now on file in my office: That he enlisted on the Twenty-ninth day of February 1864 and was mustered into service to date twenty-ninth day of February 1864 and is credited to Upshur County, W. Va.

  April 7th, 1866
  The treasurer will pay to J Loomis Gould in fact of John W Duncan or order on or before the first day of January 1867, the sum of ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS! being infull as Bounty of $118, with interest from January first, 1866, out of a distribution of the $15,000, appropriation for to pay Bounties to Volunteers, allowed by Resolution of the Board of Suervisors, passed on the 21st day of Feb. 1866.
