Simon, head, born Mar 1870, age 30 WV, WV, WV Martha R. wife, Feb 1868, age 28 Clide L. dau (?) Mar 1894, age 6 Chas. W. son, Aug 1897, age 2 Stella, dau, July 1899, age 2 Married 7 years, 3 children, 3 living [nee Snyder] Source: WV State Archives Online Death Records. DC #8561, District #310, Serial #261. Birthdate included in record. Died at 84y in Morgantown. Parents listed as Jacob Simons and Mary Duncan. Widowed. Mrs. Juanita McCoy (dau) was informant. Ben J Hibbs was undertaker (FL#877/EL#1245). Dr. FR? Whittleser? of Morgantown signed. Sylvester's will was found in the Upshur County Courthouse Will Bk Vol 7, pg. 498. It was written December 31, 1951 and probated July 10, 1954. His Will states the following: (1) his farm of 282 (+ or -) was to be divided between his three sons [Troy, Wilby and Robert] as well as all gas and oil lease/rentals; (2) Troy and Wilby got all farm tools and Floyds horse "Prince"; [3] $2,000.00 to Juanita McCoy; [4] $1,500.00 to Clydia Cutright; [5] $1,500.00 to Robert Stanley; [6] $100.00 to his son-in-law Paul McCoy; [7] $25.00 to the Trustees of the Point Pleasant Cemetery; [8] $25.00 to the Minister of the Methodist Church on Abbott Road. The remainder of her estate went to his three boys. Stella was not left anything because she got her share before Floyd died. Last residence [1954] of Floyd was 732 Ridgeway Avnue, Morgantown, WV. Found on 8/28/2002. Law Order Bk Z, (5-3-1954 to 12-31-1956), pg. 37: State of West Virginia: In the office of the Clerk of the Upshur County Court, in vacation of said Court, July 10th, 1954, ss: This day the will of S. F. Simons, late a resident of Meade District, was filed and offered for probate. The will being fully and legally proven by an attached affidavit in accordance with Chapter 41, article 5, section 15 of the Code of West Virginia, was duly admitted to record. Troy Simons and Wilby Simons, the executors named in the will, duly and regularly qualified as such executors, without bond. Upon the motion of said executors, R R Colerider, H D Abbott and Mack Bennett are appointed appraisers of said estate. It is ordered that the estate of S F Simons, deceased, be referred to Lycurgus Hyre, Commissioner of Accounts for Upshur County, for such action as may be necessary in the settlement thereof. Signed A H Lawson Law Book Z, p. 199: Monday, June 13th, 1955: Floyd's estate was settled and distributed as according to will. Troy and Wilby were then dismissed. Land Bk for Meade District 1954-1958: S F Simons owned the following lands on Bull Run: 24 acres worth $1,350; 76 acres worth $1,400; 3 11/20 acres worth $75; 89 acres worth $1,245; and 88-2-1 3/5 acres worth $1,240.
