a. Note:   Reg. of births, Bk 4, pg 155 lists the birth of Juanita. Her first name was entered by affidavit on 3/7/1969 by Juanita Simons McCoy. Found 8/28/2002.
  The Record Delta, Fri, Feb 28, 2003:
  Juanita S. McCoy, 89, of Paden City, died Feb. 24, 2003, at Fort Sanders-Sevier Medical Center.
  She was a member of the Pigeon Forge United Methodist Church, where she served as a substitute Sunday school teacher. She attended Little United Methodist Church in Friendly.
  McCoy was the founder of the Quiltfest in Pigeon Forge and a member of Piecemakers Quilting Group.
  She is survived by her children, Roger Lee McCoy and wife Karin of Atlanta, Ga., Barbara L. Hopkins and husband, John (Hoppy) of Paden City; grandchildren, Susan Lea Taylor of Milford, Mass., Janet Purvis of St. Simon Island, Ga., David McCoy of Watkinsville, Ga., Eric Hopkins of Morgantown, Juanita L. Hopkins of Madison, N.J., and Denise Nelson of Atlanta, Ga.; six great-grandchildren and a brother, Robert Simons of Buckhannon.
  She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Paul B. McCoy; two brothers, Troy Simons and Wilby Simons; and three sisters, Clydia Cutright, Stella Murphy and Iza Ellen Simons.
  Visitation was Feb. 26 at Atchley�s Smokey Mountain Chapel, 220 Emert Street, Pigeon Forge. Funeral service was 11 a.m., Feb. 27 at Atchley�s Smokey Mountain Chapel with the Rev. Keith Knight officiating. Internment is at the Smokey Mountain Chapel Mausoleum.
  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church, 229 River Road, Pigeon Forge, 37863 or Little United Methodist Church, 2655 Sellers Run Road, Friendly, WV 26146.
