Note: Pearl Frances Black, 88, of Buckhannon, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at the home of her son Donald Jeffries. She was born Nov. 3, 1916, in Upshur County, the daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche Louise Westfall Ware. Her first husband, Lewie Franklin Jeffries as well as her second husband, James R. Black preceded her in death. Six daughters: Lucille Irene Jeffries Moore and husband Rex, of Fairmont, Edith Mae Jeffries Godfrey and husband Kenneth, of Pullman, W.Va., Beaulah Jean Jeffries Tenney and husband Doyle, of Frenchton, Naomi Katherine Jeffries Sides and husband Jimmy, of Walls, Miss., Carol Ann Jeffries Beachler and husband Frank, of Moore, Okla., and Helen Louise Alicie, of Buckhannon, survive her. Three sons: Lewie Junior Jeffries and wife Charlotte, of Washington, Okla., Oziel Lee Jeffries and wife Phyliss, of Cumberland, Ohio, and Donald Ray Jeffries, of Buckhannon, also survive her. Thirty-four grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 85 great-grandchildren, eight step great-grandchildren and 21 great great-grandchildren survive her as well. In addition to her father, mother and first and second husbands, one grandson, one great-granddaughter, one great-grandson, and one great great-grandson preceded her in death. Six brothers: Junior Ware, Harry Ware, Alonzo Ware, Paul Edward Ware, Everett Lee Ware, Cecil Grant Ware, as well as a sister Enola Marie Ware Hinchman also preceded her in death. Mrs. Black was a cook at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lorain, Ohio and for Saga Food Service at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Friends will be received today, Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at 1 p.m. at the Good Hope Tabernacle Church with Pastor Bob Barker and Rev. Lewie Junior Jeffries officiating. Interment will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park Cemetery. The Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
