First to Elizabeth Davis just months (August 1863) after Rosalie's death and then to Mary Rebecca Edinburg. Francios may have also fathered children with a black housekeeper identified in census records as Lucy Fulle Lucy Fuller is recorded in the 1870 census as having 2 children identified with last name Dechaumes and they are listed as "mulatto". William is working as a laborer and Mary as a cook. 1864 (August) Francis marries Elizabeth Wells Just a few months after Rosalie's death, Francis marries Elizabeth Wells/Davis. It is not clear exactly what happened with this marriage. There is an Elizabeth Wells who marries another man in Texas in 1864. But by 1865, Francis will marry again...this time to Mary Rebecca Edinburg. 1870 Francis and Mary are listed with children + Henry on the 1870 Census. 1880 Francis is living in Falls, Texas with Alfred and Augusta. He lists himself on the 1880 Census as a widower. His name is recorded by the census taker as "Desrain" but all children and ages match so this must be a recording error in understanding his name by the census taker. 1898 Francis Dechaumes died in Houston, TX on October 15, 1898. He is NOT buried in Pillot cemetery.
