Notes
a. Note:   Rozella or "Rosalie" Pillot was the daughter of Claude Nicholas Pillot from France, the earliest known settlers in the WIllow Creek area of Texas (26 miles north of Houston) who brought his family to Texas in 1837.
  1833
Rosalie was born in New York in 1833
  1850
Rosalie married Francios "Francis" Desire Dechaumes on September 19, 1850, son of a prominent Houston architect Michael Dechaumes.

 about Rozella Pillot
 Name: Rozella Pillot
 Marriage Date: 19 Sep 1850
  Spouse: Francis D. Dechaume
  Marriage County: Harris
 Marriage State: Texas
  1850
Rosallie and Francios are recorded as living together. Rosalie is 17 and Francios is 25. Francios is listed as a farmer.
  1860
Rosalie and Francios are recorded with family and with real estate valued at $1000 and personal estate valued at $2000
The 1860 Slave Census also records that Rosalie owns 7 slaves. Francis is shown just below on the Census as owning 2 slaves.

Rosalie died in March 1863, one month after delivering Eugene her youngest of 8 children, most likely due to complications from childbirth.
Rosalie is buried in Pillot Cemetery. Strangely, her maiden name is listed as her last name. This seems odd but may reflect controversy within the family. Francios who married 2 other times after Rosalie's death, may have perhaps fathered children with a black housekeeper identified in Census records as Lucy Fuller.
She is recorded in the 1870 census as having 2 children identified with last name Dechaumes and they are listed as "mulatto".
