Notes
a. Note:   Augustine Dechaumes (Augusta or "Gussie) was the daughter of Francios "Francis" Dechaumes and Rosalie Pillot. Her father was the son of Michael Dechaumes, a prominent early Houston citizen and first architect in Texas. Augusta's mother Rosalie was the daughter of Claude Nicholas Pillot the first settler in the area known as Willow Creek in 1837. Both families were present when Texas was still a Republic.
  Augusta was baptized as follows:
Baptismal Record of St. Vincent's Church Houston Texas, #541, page 116
"On this day 10th of February, 1860. The undersigned pastor of St. Vincent's Church baptised Augustine Dechaumes, born on the 19th of March 1858, daughter of Desire Dechaumes and his wife Rosalie Pillot.
She and her brother and another Pillot child were baptised on the same day.
Per Marzee Goodson Ware, Gussie had "no laughter in her at all".
In the 1860 census, Augusta's family was living four stops away from the WB Loftin family. Two of his sons married 2 sisters of George Van Young.
Shown in Harris County Census of 1870
Per "The Roadrunner" Vol 4, No 3, pg 27 published by the Chaparral Genealogical Society of Tomball. Gustie was a patient of Dr. Robert A. Allwelt of Tomball.
