Note: From Donna Mowery June 2008 I haven't done extensive research on any of Feidt's children other than our Elizabeth. The information I have on Feidt's children and spouses primarily came from Dr. Dudley. He wrote that Feidt was drafted into the VA militia of Berkley Co. in Oct. 1778. He was discharged 12/18/1778 and headed home to Berkley Co. and his family. He stayed in Berkley Co. until April 1779. Our Elizabeth was b. abt. 1776 so based on that would have been born in Berkley Co. West Virginia (Berkeley County is the second oldest county in West Virginia and was created (while part of the state of Virginia) in 1772 from the northern third of Frederick County, Virginia. The county seat was established in the colonial village of Martinsburg and was incorporated in 1778. ) ********************************************* Knox County, TN Court record; VOL 11; page 311-312 Elizabeth Fleshart children listed 6 Oct 1821 The Petition of ELIZABETH FLESHART the widow delict of FRANCIS FLESHART deceased was filed - Praying the court to (?) an order to the sheriff of Knox County to summon twelve fre(e)holder residents of said county of Knox concerned neither by consanquinity* or affinity - as a jury to day off & sit afront to the said ELIZABETH FLESHART her Dower in a certain lot of ground towit. Eddlemon page 203-204 It has a list of letters remaining at the post office in Knoxville on January 1, 1822 per John Crozier, p.m. The list shows a Elisha Fleshheart. Don't know who he was...bro of Francis...father of Jane? Could have been there and died before 1822 leaving Jane as an orphan to live with family but I think she would have named one of her children Elisha if that were true. I did a post on Blount Co. Somebody offered to look up Adoptions 1800s.
