a. Note:   "Samuel Beegle, the fifth twin son of Frederick and Mary Magdalene Beegle was born in Friend's Cove, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, May 9, 1809. He was united in matrimony august 17, 1834 with Camilla Hendrickson, who was born in Cumberland Valley, Bedford county, October 19, 1814. They spent the greater part of their married life in Pleasant Valley, Bedford Twonship, where he followed his blacksmith trade in connection with farming the remainder of his life. He owned and operated his own shop, where he trained his sons in this vocation. The homestead is one mile north of St. James' Lutheran Church, and the location was know as Beegle's Shop."
  "Samuel died in Pleasant Valley, September 8, 1872. Camilla lived to a remarkable age, full of interest and retained her faculties in an exceptional manner. The many instances related by her concerning our country are of great value. During her latter years she spent her time among her children. She closed her eyes in peace with God at the home of her son, John, January 8, 1912. Living to a very ripe age - 97 yrs. 2 mos. 19 das. Their final earthly resting place is in the St. James' Lutheran cemetery, Pleasant Valley."
