a. Note:   Inventory of the personal estate of Robert Hyslop, Farmer of
 UpperCairn, in the Parish of Kirkconnel, who died Intestate on the
 Sixteenth day of March, Eighteen Hundred and Forty Nine years with
 interest due on principal sum at that date.
  Cash in the house, principal sum with Interest due by the British
 Linen company, on a current deposit account,kept by the deceased, with
 their branch at Sanquhar. Value of the farm, stock, crop, farming and
 dairy utensils, household furniture, and the moveable effects which
 belonged to the deceased. Inventory and and Appraisement by Andrew
 Briton dated 16th April 1849.
 Summary of foregoing Inventory: �427, 12 shillings, and 9 pence.
  Signed Thomas Hyslop, J W McQueen J.P at Sanquhar the twenty fourth
 day of October Eighteen hundred and forty nine.
  Thomas Hyslop of Kirkconnel Village, being solemonly sworn and
 examined, depones that his father the deceased Robert Hyslop farmer of
 Uppercairn, in the parish of Kirkconnel, died there Intestate upon the
 Sixteenth day of March Eighteen Hundred and Forty nine.
 That the deponenet has entered upon the posession and management of
 his personal and moveable estate as his executor.
 The deponent knows of no settlement or other writing left by the
 deceased relative to the disposal of his personal estate or effects or
 any part of them. That the foregoing Inventory which is signed by the
 deponent and the said confirmation as relative hereto, is a full and
 complete Inventory of the personal estate and effects of the said
 deceased.
 All which is truth as the Deponenet shall answer to god.
