Company K, 15th Regiment, Kershaw's Brigade, South Carolina, Inf. Vol. Pvt 30. Captured at Charleston, held until after surrender. Enlistment Date: March 1, 1864 in Greenville, S.C. Sworn in: March 20, 1864 at Greenville, Tennessee. Parole Date: May 2, 1865. He appeared on a List of passports furnished to furloughed and transferred men in General Hospital, Camp Winder, Richmond, Virginia for the week ending September 3, 1864 to his destination of New Market, South Carolina. From March 1, 1864 to June 30, 1864 he was paid $49.13 from 15th Regiment. About April 9, 1865, the 15th Regiment South Carolina Infantry was consolidated with the 7th Regiment South Carolina Infantry and a part of Blanchard's South Carolina Reserves and formed the (New) 7th Regiment, South Carolina Infantry, which was paroled at Greensboro, N. C., May 2, 1865. He was transferred from Company K 15th Regiment, Kershaw's Brigade, to the 7th Regiment , Co. A, South Carolina Volunteers. He was paroled at Greensboro, North Carolina on May 2, 1865, in accordance with the terms of a Military Convention entered into on the 26th day of April, 1865, between General Joseph E. Johnston, Commanding Confederate Army, and Major General W. T. Sherman, Commanding United States Army in North Carolina. We have been told that he is buried at McCormick City Cemetery, however, we have not been able to find his grave.
