Note: Ben Loggins, our cousin in Jonesboro, Georgia, says that Rebecca was an OWENS. I did not originally document where I got that she was an EDWARDS, nor the marriage date. Today, October 19, 2000, I checked my Habersham County Marriage Books and recorded in Book B of Habersham County Marriages 1843-1873, is James Loggans, Jr. who married Rebecca Edwards on January 15, 1843, so I feel that what I have recorded is right. Also, there is a James Loggins, Jr. who married Mary "Polly" Edwards on January 8, 1846.. This James Loggins, Jr. was born in South Carolina. There was a JOSEPH LOGGANS who married a REBECCA SMITH on April 27, 1867 in Habersham County, Georgia, but this is NOT our Rebecca. I am looking strongly at a family of Edwards who was living in the 3rd District, 37th Division of Habersham County, listed as follows: Household 20/20 - 1850 Census Habersham County, Georgia Enoch Edwards, age 55, M., = b. 1795, Farmer $1,200, b. NORTH CAROLINA - Our Rebecca was born in NC in 1822. Rhoda (McMillan), age 39 F., b. SC = b. 1811 VB, age 17, M., Farmer, b. Georgia = b. 1833 Elizabeth J., age 13, F., b. Ga. A.M., age 12, M., b. Ga. Sophronia C., age 9, F., b. Ga. Mary E., age 4, F., b. Ga b. Ga. Martha F., age 1, F., b. Ga. Enoch Edwards married Rhoda? McMillan on August 4, 1831 in Habersham County, Georgia. The only problem I have here is that Rhoda McMillan Edwards could not be the mother to our Rebecca, as she would have only been 11 years old when Rebecca was born. It is possible that Enoch Edwards was married to someone else before he married Rhoda. Our Rebecca was born 1822.
