 Obituary:
Again the natural process, blooming, growing, and ripening through which each fruit goes, some are even prepared for winter's chilling blast and the same divine law which is so appropriate for us has again been made manifest in our midst by one of our worthy citizens. Grandma Thompson, letting go this bough and entering the realm of eternity. She died Friday, the 3rd at 11:30 a.m. after an illness of several years, slowly but with appalling certainty she sank, and at the above time the faint and flickering lamp went out, the bony spectre cold death on whom we all reflect with horror entered, reached out his tapering fingers, touched her - it was a becon not to be resisted, to join the long caravan of lives that have departed this sphere within life seemed at it's best. Death indeed loves a slicing mark. Grandma lived her life out and as natural as the running brook. We do not say that she was perfection or without fault - none are perfection, even the brooks contain dissolved turf and other waste matter, but as a whole, it is beautiful. Grandma was a devoted Christian, she always saw some good in everyone no matter how degraded. While others could see the evil, she was always looking for gold. She died in her 75th year. She leaves 3 sons and 3 daughters to mourn her departure. W.M. Lock"
