Notes
a. Note:   One of the founders of the present Sinai Memorial Chapel, the Chevra Kadisha. Also, the Hebrew Free Loan Association, which is the Chevra Gemilus Chasodim. He was a very religious man and would not ride on Shabbos. But, if a Jew got in trouble on Shabbos and word got to him in shull, he would call a friend to pick him up in a horse and buggy. He had to go get his landsman out of prison. A year or so before he died they gave him a big dinner at the Whitcombe Hotel. He was greatly respected.
