a. Note:   He was given the nickname "Timmy" by his father, who, when he was born declared that he was the ugliest baby he had ever seen, and hence called him Timmy after the worst book in the Bible, the book of Timothy.
  Timmy sang Tenor in the chapel choir at King's College Cambridge. He was also an accomplished musician playing both piano and harpsicord.

Note:   His ashes were scattered by his surviving children Richard and Diana on 13th September 2008 in the churchyard at Swanton Moreley Church where his father is buried.
