Notes
a. Note:   It is known that Thomas went into the Church, and he appears at St. Michael's in Stawley, Somerset where his widowed mother was the Patron until 1831.
Very soon thereafter he emigrated to Switzerland where he lived at Rolle, on the Lake of Geneva, for the rest of his life, supported (according to Colonel J.H. Rivett-Carnac in litt.31/3/1909) by a pension contributed by his brothers Sir James and Admiral John. According to the same source he married his housekeeper, a Swiss lady whose name is not recorded, but had no children.
Died at Rolle 1856. Buried there. Colonel J.H. Rivett-Carnac reported seeing his tombstone in 1907, but there is now (1984) no trace of it. (Fam. pp.)
