a. Note:   Charles's date of birth is tentative and needs to be checked more thoroughly through his marriage record. His parents and siblings are all very sketchy.
 They have been added the 1881 census entry. Whether this is our Charles or not still needs to be verified. It seems likely though.
  In the same burial plot as his son William, there is a Sarah Ellen GOODHALL, aged 73 years. This looks to be Charles's mother, and it was this that led me to the census entry.
