Title: Letter to Charles Howard Usher, 5 Jun 1913. Currently held by Usher Leslie ADDRESS FOR PRIVATE USE Edinburgh, 2010. Author: Caffrey Caroline Eliza, Glasnevin Dublin Text: 3 Church Hill Terrace Glasnevin Dublin Ireland My dear Nephew I thank you sincerely for the Birthday present. It was good & kind of you to think of me in this my sad & lonely life. I regret being so useless - although in the home at the time of my father's death - I never remember to have heard the cause. I think I am correct in saying I never heard of Cancer in any member of my Mother's family. Indeed I do remember dear Willie's last visit & little thought we were never to meet again. I hope you are succeeding in your Profession and if you can spare a few minutes occasionally - for correspondance I should be delighted to hear from you. I sorely miss your sister Gertrude's letters - but I hear sometimes from her kind young daughter who never forget me. I think they try to fill her place in my life. I heard from there yesterday & was pleased to learn of their father's improved health. They are expecting their brother from over who will perhaps take a few days fishing in the Your Aunt Lizzie was staying with them. I am really sorry to be of so little use to you - but I am delighted to have heard from you. Write like a dear good boy - & if you would like a room over here I have a small but comfortable spare room & a basin or cold bath as you please. With love always Your affect. aunt C.E.Caffrey Received 5 June 1913. In reply to my letter of a few days ago re cause of death of her relatives. 3, BON-ACCORD SQUARE, ABERDEEN.
