a. Note:   ownship, PA and operated this business for 19 months, then sold it to H R Yerger. He was also owner of the Schaeffer and Merkel foundary in Fleetwood, and the Litham Hotel at 837 Penn Street in Reading, PA. He was one of the organizers of the First National Bank of Oley, incorporated in 1907 and served as a director.
Note:   Ephraim started farming in 1873 along Pricetown road. He bought the Alsace Township Hartman Homestead farm in 1878 and lived here until 1891. He bought a general store business in Friedensburg, Oley T
