Note: Louis only had a fifth grade education. Nonetheless, that didn't stop him from learning. He bought text books on his own and = the books. He loved to read. A happy-go-luck sort of fellow, he = very good natured, kind and generous. He would have given his = penny to make somebody else happy. He was extremeley generous to = siblings, nieces and nephews. Due to his lack of having a happy childhood, he wanted to make sure his nieces and nephews were = \Sister Marie Pauline said "I don't know too much about Uncle = except that I loved him dearly. I remember him watching over me = I was small. He'd pull me around on a sled and when I got older = I'd take my Flexible Flyer (sled) out he'd always be around so I wouldn't get hurt." "To him, my Mother was Paw- Paw. He served = World War II. When he returned to Lancaster, he lived alone in = apartment. One New Year's Day, my Mother visited him to find tht = mind wasn't too clear. He couldn't get rid ofthings he saw in = war -- men dying and wounded on the battlefields, etc. They had = admitted to a hospital in Lebanon. He improved and when he was released he and Clyde Copeland lived together." \Louis died at = age of 59 years, 7 months, and 3 days at Lebanon Veterans = from Coronary Occlusion due to Arteriosclerosis of Coronary = and Arteriosclerotic Heart Disease. He was laid to rest in St. Joseph's New Cemetery, Lancaster, Pa.
