Note: Funeral services for Florence Ada Goff, 89, of Benson, were 11 A.M. Thurs., Jan. 6 at First Baptist Church in Benson with Rev. John Olson officiating. Burial was in the Benson City Cemetery. She died Saturday evening, Jan. 1 at Meadow Lane Healthcare Center in Benson. She was born July 2, 1915, in Winterset, Iowa, to William A. and Mary (Nelson) Jones. She was baptized and confirmed at Winterset Church of Christ. She grew up and attended school in Winterset and Appleton. She graduated from Appleton High School and attended Normal Training. She was united in marriage March 15, 1935, to Everett Shirley Goff at Milbank, South Dakota by Rev. Nelson. They lived and farmed in Torning Township, Swift County. She was a homemaker. She also worked at the Benson Veterinary Clinic, Benson Floral, Swift County Recorder�s Office and as a bookkeeper for the Benson Livestock Market. After the death of her husband, she moved to Park View Manor, Homestead North and later to Meadow Lane Healthcare Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Benson, the Torning Homemakers Club, Benson Garden Club and she served as an adult leader in 4-H. Among things she enjoyed were flower and vegetable gardening, flower arranging, cooking, baking, playing cards and entertaining. Survivors include: one son, Richard (and Janet) Goff; one daughter, Bonnie Lou (and Ralph) Bolt of Normal, Illinois; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991; a son, Gerald in 1997; a daughter, Bette Anne Goff in 1944; her parents; two sisters, Doris Fahl and Eleanor Goff and one brother, Floyd Jones.
