Note: [Kinkade.FTW] Will as recorded in the Lawrence County Will Record - Volume B. In the name of God. Amen. I Robert Kirkwood of the county of Lawrence and State of Illinois, being in possession of my faculties of mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this life, and wishing to make a proper disposal of my estate, real and personal. After commending my Soul to the mercy of God, through our Lord, Jesus Christ, do hereby make and declare this to be my last will and testament. 1st. It is my will that all my lawful debts to paid. 2nd. After the payment of all my lawful debts and funeral expenses, I give and bequeath to my daughters, Jane Seed and Nancy Kinkade the sum of two hundred dollars each; and to my daughter, Margaret, the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars together with a support and dwelling on the farm and in the house in which I now reside, as long as she shall remain single. And should there be any disagreement, she shall have a room to herself. 3rd. To my sons Robert and Martin, I give, devise and bequeath, the Farm on which I now reside, together with the appurtenances, subject to the support of their sister Margaret, as stated in my second bequest. Said Farm is known as the North East quarter of Section eleven, Town three north, Range ??? west. 4th. To my son John, I give devise and bequeath the following tracts of land together with the appurtenances belonging thereto; namely, the North West quarter of the South East quarter, and the North West quarter of the North West quarter, all in Section fourteen in township three north, range twelve West. 5th. To my sons Robert and Martin, I give and bequeath, all the personal estate of which I may be possessed at the time of my death, out of which they are to pay the debts, financial expenses and legacies before named. The balance to be equally divided between them. 6th. I do hereby make, constitute and appoint, my son Thomas Kirkwood Executor of this my Last Will and Testament. In testimony wereof[sic], I do hereunto subscribe my name and affix my seal; this the twenty seventh day of February in the year of our Lord, One Thousand eight hundred and sixty two.
