a. Note:   hey lived in Poland until 1878 in the town of Przedborz on the river San (East of and close to Radomsk. The couple had 7 children in Poland and 2 (Mary and Sarah) in NY. In 1878 Yeshayah came to America and set up a jewelry business on E. Broadway in 1879 he sent for his family. Sheva came in 1879 with Bertha and Rachel The 3 little girls stayed with Frimit and came by themselves in 1880 (Ages 5, 8, and 10). They travelled with directions, their tickets and passports pinned to their clothing. Frimit and Moshe (the oldest children), were already married when their family left Poland. The later came by themselves.
  From Batsheva's obituary:
 Yeshia Shlomo, came to America in 1878. Four years later he brought Mrs. Ryshpan here. At first, he started in the jewelry business. Then, later, he went into real estate, where he amassed a considerable fortune. He was a very fine Jew and a great philanthropist. He took an active part in organizing many institutions.
