a. Note:   rew name, Yitzchak Leib. Isaac had four children (David, Esther, Sara, and Bertha). He arrived in America in 1910. Initially, he worked for the Wicentowskis, and then began to work in buildings owned by his Granfather, Yeshia. He helped manage the buildings, working on plumbing and painting, etc. Eventually, he and another partner were able to buy buildings which they renovated and modernized, adding steam heat. After arriving in America, Isaac and his family lived on the Lower East Side on Third Street (where Bertha was born), then Forsyth Street and when they were more prosperous, moved to 112th Street in Harlem. In the1940s Isaac lived on Knox Place in the Bronx. After WWII, Bertha and her family lived with him at Knox Place because there was a shortage of housing after the war and her family had no place else to live. His last residence was on New York Avenue in Flatbush (Br'klyn). At his death, he owned several apartment buildings in Brooklyn. Isaac was a hard worker and rarely rested despite atherosclerotic heart disease, with angina. He died of a heart attack, while vacationing (his first vacation?) in Miami, Florida.
