Note: d Sara Ryshpan shortly after her graduation from Hunter College in NYC. He graduated from CCNY in 1899 and obtained an MA in Psychology from Columbia University in 1906. He taught and became principal of PS 4 in the Bronx, N.Y. From Printed Obituary, saved by Gma Bertha: Simon Hirsdansky, who retired in 1947 after serving for thirty years as principal of Public School 4, 1701 Fulton Avenue, the Bronx, died yesterday of a heart attack at Lake Placid, N.Y. His age was 79. Mr. Hirsdansky had lived recently in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., where his wife, Dr. Sara Hirsdansky, is a practicing psychiatrist. As principal of Public School 4, he was the successor of Angelo Patri, noted child psychologist. Mr. Hirsdansky formerly was treasurer of the School Principals Association, a member of the board of Bronx House and a member of the Davidson Society. Surviving, besides Dr. Hirsdansky, are two daughters, Mrs. Irving Ostrow and Mrs. Norman Lloyd, wife of the actor. Note: Simon was born in Lithuania and immigrated to NY in 1890. He marrie
