Note: ter College in 1902, two years after sister May. She received a Medical Degree in 1920 from Long Island School of Medicine (now Downstate Medical School). In 1929, she joined the staff of the NYD Board of Education Bureau for Mentally Retarded Children, retiring in 1949. After 1949, the family moved to Poughkeepsie, where she was a Board Member, screening psychiatrist and advisor to the Little Red School House of Dutchess County for 8 years. From 1960 to 1964, she served as Psychiatrist at the Anderson School in Staatsburg, NY... She died at the age of 90. The Hirsdanskys had two children, Helen and Margaret. She was a member of the JCC and Temple Beth-El. A graduate of Hunter College, she had served as a probation officer and school teacher before entering medical school in 1916. In 1920 she graduated from Long Island Medial College. While engaging in private practice, she worked with a variety of clinics (incl. early psychiatric children's clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital, a nutritional clinic run by the NY Turberculosis Assoc., and a clinic for typical children at Harlem Hospital. In 1929 she joined the staff of the NY City Board of Education;s Bureau for Children withRetarded Mental Development, which later became part of the Bureau of Children Guidance run by the NYC Board of Educ. Retired in 1949, and move to Poughkeepsie.
