Lizzie RHEUDE (sometimes mis-read as RHENDE) is the daughter of Andrew Anton Rheude and Mary Fitsgerald; Andrew being the son of Mary Read's 3rd GR grandparents, Phillipus Antonius Rheude and Catharina Schmidt.. ! 1910 California, San Francisco, San Francisco, taken 27 Apr 1910; ED 98, sheet 12 A, line 83, house 61 Diamond St., dwelling 146, family 250, Charles M. Johnson, head, , age 58, 2nd marriage, married 1 year, born Ohio, parents both born Ohio, photographer, own business; with wife KATE A., age 38, 2nd marriage, married 1 year, no children, born California, father born Austria, mother born Wisconsin; with father-in-law JOHN UTSELING (looks like, could be Utsching), age 61, widow, born Austria, as were his parents, own income. MARRIAGE: Kate was married 3 times, according to the family. (1) Gustav(e) HUETER; they lived in Redwood Estates; she shot him. (2) JOHNSON, Charles M. was her second husband. (3) Captain Charles BENSON was the name of her third husband; she died as Mrs. Kate Benson. ! CA San Francisco Marriage Certificate #16-023782; Kate Amelia (Utschig) Johnson to Charles Benson. !OTHER: Kate was a sharpshooter, along with other members of her family. She, along with her father, mother, and sister Lizzie (Elizabeth) won many contests and prizes for their sharpshooting expertise. Many articles in the San Francisco Chronicle and San Francisco Call tell the of their scores and abilities. !DEATH: California, San Francisco death certificate #46-015685. !OBITUARY: CA Newspaper, San Francisco Examiner Feb 17, 1946. It reads: "BENSON -- In this city, Feb. 16, 1946, Kate, dearly beloved mother of Adele Benson and beloved sister of Mrs. Elizabeth Brown; a native of S.F. Funeral Monday at 10:30 a.m., from Gantner, Felder, Kenny Chapel, 1965 Market Street at Duboce Ave. Services and interment private." !BURIAL: Cypress Lawn Memorial Cemetary; Lot 321; Section F; Utschig burial plot; gives Kate's third husband's name; he is also buried in this plot. !OTHER: In July 1903, Kate shot and killed her first husband, Gustav Hueter. There are many articles in the San Francisco Call and the San Jose Mercury which tells of the incidents which surrounded this shooting. The Grand Jury found it to have been in self defense and acquitted her.
