a. Note:   !MARRIAGE: The Sacramento Bee newspaper of 13 Oct 1875 (California). ! In the San Francisco Chronicle, Wednesday, Oct 13, 1875, was the announcement of the marriage of Charles Brown to Amelia Utschig Spuller. It reads: "Marriage: Brown - Spullen [sic]. In this city October 10 [1875], Charles Brown and Amalia [sic] Spullen [sic]." This is a second marriage for Amelia.

(Family History #1,254,078; NA film #T9-0078, page 547A.) NOTE: Mary Brown would probably be a child of Charles Brown from his first marriage, for Charles and Amelia were married in 1875.
